The world from a whole new perspective!

I can change a tire standing on my head!!!
Come on into the service bay............

Yup, this should be easy to fix!

A really GOOD mechanic looks at the problem from ALL angles!

I just adore these shots of J.........he was so busy and so serious.........his little mind was working overtime! I often wonder what in the world he's thinking! But he is a good problem solver, so I just let the imagination soar! He had us just ROLLING watching this. Such a blessing to my heart.........every day just gets better and sweeter!

We have plans tomorrow to go to a surprise 80th B-day party for a dear friend of ours, and I'm sure J will provide some entertainment! Then Grams has invited us all out to supper.......I'm really excited, except for the hot weather. Should be a fun filled day with all my loved ones!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and remember to go make some memories! Love You!

G-pa's Dream Truck

"Victory" Red
2008 Chevey Silverado LTZ! For those of you who don't know, G-pa B is self employed, working in the oil fields as an oil pumper. VERY hard work, and very demanding......needless to say, he is hard on his work trucks, and recently decided it was time for an up-grade. He always has a "back up" truck to use in case of a breakdown, and then when he needs a new work truck, he takes the back up for a work truck, and gets a new back up. Does that make sense? LOL.
ANYWAY, he recently took his back up truck for work, which meant finding a new backup. After looking at what seemed like every car lot in the county for a good used one, he decided (with much encouragement from me) to just get a brand new one. He had'nt had a brand new one in almost 30 years, so I honestly felt like he deserved it. WELL, you know the old saying "boys and their toys"!! He is SO thrilled and proud of his new truck, and can't WAIT to take his little "Cooter" (that's his nickname for J) out in it. I have a sneaky feeling we will be looking at new carseats so he can have one of his own in the truck without having to go thru the hassle of switching mine out of my car!! And we need to put some running boards on it, because my short legs can hardly make it up and in!! LOL. But I am so happy for him, and so proud of doing something for himself..............he takes SUCH wonderful care of us, and always puts us before his own wants and needs. We are so blessed to have him, and I tell him so EVERY day.

On a side note: it was 12 years ago today that he was severly burned in a natural gas explosion while working. He was burned from the waist up, and had to be grafted on both arms and hands. We nearly lost him twice during the whole ordeal, but he's a fighter, and God obviously had other plans for him, thankfully. His recovery was long and painful, but he did everything in exactly half the time the Dr.s expected, including going back to work in just 5 months. He amazed us all, including his medical team, and to this day, I thank God from the bottom of my heart that he survived. I love you, B!!!!!

Making Memories

As usual, this being Thursday, it was Grams day at our house, which always means fun and games! G-pa and I blew up his new pool and filled it this morning, and let it set in the sun for the day to warm up. By the time J woke up from his afternoon nap, it was JUUUUST right! So out we went for some fun in the water. He had SO much fun splashing us, and throwing his soaker balls back and forth to us. I really don't know who enjoyed it more........J or the grown-ups! After a while, there was a soccer game right across the street from my house, so we went to the front yard in the shade, and sat and watched while J had his snack. We were still outside when H got here to get him!! Then, Grams stayed and bought us all a pizza for supper, and then played with J some more while H showed me how to do some of this fancy stuff. Some of it must have soaked in, cause here I am, doing it all by myself! YEAH ME!!! LOL. So, look out folks, now that I've learned how, I'm gonna assert my bragging rights, and post pics of my love bug all the time!!! But enough for tonight, it's getting late, and I still have lots to do. Thank you for taking a peek into my world, and I'll see you here again soon! God Bless You All!

I Love My Grams!!

For now, I'm just learning how to put pics on my blog, but here is J-man with his Grams at his baby pool. They have too much fun together!!!!

Fun with tadpoles

It does me so much good to watch "my boys" (Beryl and James) discover new things together. Several days ago, G-pa brought home some tadpoles for James.
We put them in an aquarium, and fed them fish food, and watched as they turned into little frogs. We released the last one this morning......and then this afternoon G-pa brought more home. We now have 12 tadpoles, and 4 snails!! But the real fun is watching James become so interested in them. And today, he started SAYING "tadpole"!!!! I was going nuts, having him say it over and over again. I was so excited, I called Heather at work.........and then he wouldn't say it for love nor money!!!! He just wanted the phone. It is simply amazing how fast his vocabulary is growing, and each new word brings unexplainable joy to my heart. Between walking and talking I feel such a let-down when he leaves at night, and I can't wait for him to come back again the next day. Of course, I NEED the down time, I'm not as young as I used to be, and he can wear me down pretty quick! But to watch him as he explores and discovers the world around him is Heaven on earth. Every day is a new page in his book of life, and I am so blessed to be one of the authors. My Daddy used to tease me, saying I acted like I was the only woman in the world to become a grandma. But I am going to enjoy every blessed day, and strive to make sure that James does as well.
Well, kids, I need to go and get ready for another day of fun tomorrow. (That mostly means a bite to eat, a shower, and then off to bed!!) LOL. Thank you for being here, and I will meet you here again soon. God Bless You!!

I need air!!!

So, is anyone besides me about to swelter in this humidity? I feel like I need to grow fins just to walk through the house! When I get up to do the smallest task, I break a sweat, and the AC is running all the time. Along with 3 fans!! And it seems as though we are in for yet another round of weather.......YUK!!!

O.K., enough of my petty bitchin'.........On to the good stuff!!
My little love bug is walking!!!!! YEAH!!! He still is working on standing up in the middle of the floor, but if he's at the table or other furniture, he will stand up and walk. And he KNOWS he's doing something special,.....he'll try to look back at you to see if you're watching him, and usually that's when he falls down. But then he'll just CLAP and SMILE!!!! It makes my heart soar to watch him........I could do it all day. O.K., I admit,....I DO do it all day, which is why I never get anything else done!! LOL. But I'm having the time of my life, and I want him to remember that I took time for him, and that I enjoyed it. This little boy is going to know that his Gammo is in his corner, no matter what.
AND, I want to wish my precious daughter and son-in-law a very happy anniversary. Nine years ago today, my whole life changed forever. I became an instant grandma to 3 of the most beautiful kids in the world, and they all 3 stole my heart from the first smile. Sadly, we lost our Tracey almost 5 years ago in a car accident, and I miss that girl so much! How she would have loved and spoiled her new baby brother! I just know in my heart that she is caring for all the little babies in Heaven, and loving it.
I guess that's about it for now, my friends.......stay safe and healthy and remember to always hug and kiss the ones you love, and TELL them how much they mean to you. God Bless You All........

Why?

Is everyday common respect in this world just a thing of the past? Are we doing everything we can to teach our children and grandchildren the lesson of respecting others and their property? I just called my mom (as I've done every evening for years), and was sickened to learn that someone had stolen some of the flowers that we took to Daddy's grave for Memorial day. We knew the rules........and we knew that the flowers would start being picked up on June 3rd, and planned on going back to get them ourselves then. But today, my poor Mom found the theft when she went to visit Dad's grave, as she does almost daily. She had carefully chosen what she wanted to put there, and even potted some of the flowers herself. And some of them were just........gone. They were there yesterday, and there were no storms last night to blow them away, and today, the hanging basket was gone off the shepherds hook, (but the hook remained), and one of the pots that she had potted was gone. I had dug a small indentation in the dirt about an inch or two deep to set the pots in, and there was no sign of it being dragged, or blown over, just picked straight up. Words fail me.......I cannot begin to tell you how hurt and angry I am. And to hear the anguish in Mom's voice just sets me seething. The pain of Daddy's death is still so raw, and now this. What is going on in this world of ours that makes this acceptable to some people? And how do we stop it? I know one thing....my voice will be heard. I am working on a letter to put in our local paper. I've already asked my brilliant daughter to help me find the words.....she is so gifted and eloquent, and I just feel the need to speak out about this. I will post the final draft when we get it done. In the meantime, pray with me that we will find the words to reach the hearts of whoever did this, and make them understand the pain that they have caused.

About Me

My heart is filled with faith in God, and love for my family and friends. I am in love with a fabulous man who shares in my joy of being the mother of H, and the grandma of J.

I never get enough of my little love bug!
If there must be strife, let it be in MY day, that this child may know peace.
