Ahoy, Matie!!!

AAAAARRRRGGGGG!!!!
My two beautiful babies!

Goofy Girls.

Having WAY too much fun!

Like Mother, Like Daughter, and PROUD of it!!!

Did you hear the one about the parrot and the one-eyed woman that walked
into a Long John Silvers??????

Well, the big day is over, and thanks be to God, everything went well, and Mom is feeling fine. Tired, but fine. As I told you, we planned on a pirate theme to mark the occasion, and we had a ball!! The people who work there loved it, as well as some of the other customers. Then we went to Cindy's house and Mom rested for a bit, and James explored new territories. He was getting so tired, so he and his Mommy went home for a nap, except..........it never happened! So this evening they came to my house for a dip in his baby pool, and then off he went again, all over the yard, in a wet swimming suit that got FILTHY! LOL. The poor little guy was getting beside himself tired, so we came in and fed him supper, and gave him a bath, and then back home to (hopefully) get a good nights sleep. He was SO tired as they drove out the drive, he just had that deer in the headlights look. But we made some sweet memories, and that's what it's all about, right? The only problem is.........NOW what do we do for the next one????? LOL.
So thank you all again for your prayers and phone calls, I am certainly BLESSED WITH THE BEST!!!!! Love to all, and God Bless You!!

My precious Mama.....

Mom goes in tomorrow morning for her first cateract surgery, and is quite apprehensive about it. She is ready to see the world again, but is still a bit nervous. We've known for some time that this needs to be done, but as usual, she was always putting others before herself, and has been putting it off. A few days after Daddy passed away, my little sister and her family invited Mom to go out on the lake with them on their boat. Mom really enjoyed it, but made the comment to me that the kids kept telling her....."Grandma, look at that", and would point at something.......
and she had no idea what they were seeing! I immediately had "the talk" with her about needing to get her eyes taken care of........after all, she IS still driving, and needs to be as safe as possible.
So she made the appt., and I took her in for her consultation, and now here we are, ready for the big day. In another 2 to 4 weeks, she will have the other one done, and then, her surgeon has put in a request with her insurance to have her eyelids "done". With age, the folds in her eyelids have drooped to the point that she can only open her eyes about half way. After all this is done, he said she will see things in a whole new way!
But if I may.........I ask for your prayers. Mom seems to have a history with having a bit of trouble with anesthesia, and has scared the puddin' out of us before. I know that she is strong and healthy, and she's a little scrapper, but the bottom line is that she is in God's hands, and I just pray that His will is for her to be just fine. Thank you in advance, and I will post again tomorrow night and give you an update.
Now, on the lighter side of the story: Mom and my sweet daughter Heather have a VERY close relationship, and every time her Grams has had a surgery, Heather has always sent her a stuffed animal. So this time, she had the brilliant idea to get a parrot for her Grams, to go with the whole eye patch after surgery thing. I thought it was hysterical, and so we just took the ball and ran with it. Heather went to a party supply store and bought pirate eye patches for all of us to wear tomorrow, and we are going to take her to Long John Silvers for lunch afterwards. (if she feels up to it, of course). And I've been trying my darndest to get James to say "Aaarrrgggghh".
He tries, which cracks me up, and I just hope we can get him to do it tomorrow. I'll have my camera with me, so I'll be able to share some pictures! Then Mom is going to spend the night tomorrow with my little sister, and then she will take Mom back in on Friday for her post-op
check. So, I will be busy and/or otherwise distracted for a day or two, but I promise to be back soon. Thank you again for your prayers, and remember to hug the ones you love..............
See you here again soon! God Bless You All!

The world from a whole new perspective!

I can change a tire standing on my head!!!
Come on into the service bay............

Yup, this should be easy to fix!

A really GOOD mechanic looks at the problem from ALL angles!

I just adore these shots of J.........he was so busy and so serious.........his little mind was working overtime! I often wonder what in the world he's thinking! But he is a good problem solver, so I just let the imagination soar! He had us just ROLLING watching this. Such a blessing to my heart.........every day just gets better and sweeter!

We have plans tomorrow to go to a surprise 80th B-day party for a dear friend of ours, and I'm sure J will provide some entertainment! Then Grams has invited us all out to supper.......I'm really excited, except for the hot weather. Should be a fun filled day with all my loved ones!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and remember to go make some memories! Love You!

G-pa's Dream Truck

"Victory" Red
2008 Chevey Silverado LTZ! For those of you who don't know, G-pa B is self employed, working in the oil fields as an oil pumper. VERY hard work, and very demanding......needless to say, he is hard on his work trucks, and recently decided it was time for an up-grade. He always has a "back up" truck to use in case of a breakdown, and then when he needs a new work truck, he takes the back up for a work truck, and gets a new back up. Does that make sense? LOL.
ANYWAY, he recently took his back up truck for work, which meant finding a new backup. After looking at what seemed like every car lot in the county for a good used one, he decided (with much encouragement from me) to just get a brand new one. He had'nt had a brand new one in almost 30 years, so I honestly felt like he deserved it. WELL, you know the old saying "boys and their toys"!! He is SO thrilled and proud of his new truck, and can't WAIT to take his little "Cooter" (that's his nickname for J) out in it. I have a sneaky feeling we will be looking at new carseats so he can have one of his own in the truck without having to go thru the hassle of switching mine out of my car!! And we need to put some running boards on it, because my short legs can hardly make it up and in!! LOL. But I am so happy for him, and so proud of doing something for himself..............he takes SUCH wonderful care of us, and always puts us before his own wants and needs. We are so blessed to have him, and I tell him so EVERY day.

On a side note: it was 12 years ago today that he was severly burned in a natural gas explosion while working. He was burned from the waist up, and had to be grafted on both arms and hands. We nearly lost him twice during the whole ordeal, but he's a fighter, and God obviously had other plans for him, thankfully. His recovery was long and painful, but he did everything in exactly half the time the Dr.s expected, including going back to work in just 5 months. He amazed us all, including his medical team, and to this day, I thank God from the bottom of my heart that he survived. I love you, B!!!!!

Making Memories

As usual, this being Thursday, it was Grams day at our house, which always means fun and games! G-pa and I blew up his new pool and filled it this morning, and let it set in the sun for the day to warm up. By the time J woke up from his afternoon nap, it was JUUUUST right! So out we went for some fun in the water. He had SO much fun splashing us, and throwing his soaker balls back and forth to us. I really don't know who enjoyed it more........J or the grown-ups! After a while, there was a soccer game right across the street from my house, so we went to the front yard in the shade, and sat and watched while J had his snack. We were still outside when H got here to get him!! Then, Grams stayed and bought us all a pizza for supper, and then played with J some more while H showed me how to do some of this fancy stuff. Some of it must have soaked in, cause here I am, doing it all by myself! YEAH ME!!! LOL. So, look out folks, now that I've learned how, I'm gonna assert my bragging rights, and post pics of my love bug all the time!!! But enough for tonight, it's getting late, and I still have lots to do. Thank you for taking a peek into my world, and I'll see you here again soon! God Bless You All!

I Love My Grams!!

For now, I'm just learning how to put pics on my blog, but here is J-man with his Grams at his baby pool. They have too much fun together!!!!

About Me

My heart is filled with faith in God, and love for my family and friends. I am in love with a fabulous man who shares in my joy of being the mother of H, and the grandma of J.

I never get enough of my little love bug!
If there must be strife, let it be in MY day, that this child may know peace.
